FIRST PHOTO IS THE RENDER AND THE SECOND PHOTO IS THE REFERENCE

For this project I decided to choose a kitchen or dining area with clean lighting and interesting decorations throughout the scene. We had to find textures or make textures that were either exact or extremely close to what the original texture to the reference is. I am pretty content with the ones that I found, though they are not exactly matching the reference, they are relatively close.

I modeled the scene in Maya 2020, created seamless PBR maps in Photoshop, textured the geometry in Substance Painter, and brought everything into Unreal for layout, rendering and texture allocation. I find my lighting in my render to be a little bit warmer than the lighting in the reference and the harsh contrast in the shadows in the reference I unfortunately could not attempt to display it as dark as I would have liked even with manipulating the channels in Post Process Volume. However, overall I am pleased with the turnout of this project as I am still relatively new to Unreal. Throughout this project I challenged myself with focusing on improving my UVing skills and texturing in Substance Painter since the last time I used Substance was before Adobe bought it. I feel like I executed that adequately in this project.

What I would do differently in this scene would be to make the counter top and wooden cabinets below it a separate object and texture them differently. I would have liked to apply a clear coat to the countertop to add that extra shine and reflection from the lighting to it as well as bump up the reflectivity to the oven too.
